Happy New Year!

I’m in Austria training and preparing for Sunday’s FIS Snowboard World Cup in Kreishberg. I’ve never been more fired up to race. It has been three great days of training for me here. I love the snow and the hill. I’ve raced on this hill many times and have had good success on it. The race hill has it all, steeps, flats and breakovers. I always ride my best in January; the timing is right. It dumped about six inches here last night. Once we slipped the course a few times this morning in training we got down to a hard grippy layer, should be perfect for racing. The first day of training the snow was epic, but yesterday they pushed a lot of snow to make the hill more symetrical and it turned the snow to sugar. Hopefully the new snow will make it all bond and return it to hero. The harder the better with my new boards. We race on Sunday and then head to Olang, Italy for another PGS World Cup and Olympic Qualifier. I know what I’m capable of if I stick to my plan. I’m going to charge both qualifying runs, leaving it all on the course. Time for the warrior spirit to come out and fight for my life. If I do that and remember the technical things I’ve been working on all season, I’m confident it will get the job done. I’ll keep ya posted. Thanks for your support and fast wishes.I enjoyed an awesome holiday in Aspen with my family and friends. Both my brothers traveled home for Christmas. It was a lot of fun getting out on the mountains with everyone. The conditions in Aspen are unbelievable. I rode a lot of powder while at home. Check out the shot below from my friend Zach Ornitz taken New Year’s Eve on the backside of Aspen Mtn. Thanks for checking in. Best wishes for a fast year ahead. Talk to ya soon from the road!CKEnjoying the freshies on backside of Aspen Mtn. Photo taken by Zack Ornitz, Aspen Daily News.
