It was a fun World Cup Parallel Giant Slalom race in Bardonecchia, Italy yesterday. It’s one of my favorite race hills. The snow was super challenging last Wednesday for training. Yesterday it was rock hard and perfectly railable. I qualified for the top sixteen final in thirteenth place, matching me up against forth place finisher Izidor Sustersic from Slovenia. I had a solid first run in the blue course, just getting beat at the line by one tenth of a second. I almost made up the difference in the red course on the second run, but fell short by a tenth overall. I was stoked on my riding and again being in the finals, but bummed to lose by such a close margin in the first round of finals. I was feeling on yesterday and really wanted to keep racing. It’s always hard when your day gets cut short, but I’m happy with my riding and had a great time racing. I still love racing head-to-head, challenging myself against the worlds best. I feel like I’ve made great progess the past weeks since World’s. I love my gear and am healthy and strong. I’m looking forward to the World Cups ahead. I belive I can find the podium yet this year on the World Cup circuit. I’ll keep charging!
I’m in Munich this weekend attending the ISPO trade show. Next week I travel to Russia for a Slalom World Cup in Shukolovo, Russia Feb. 9th. After riding strong at the slalom in Nendaz, Switz. last week I’m excited for another shot. Russia is a cool place. I hope I will have a chance to check out more of Moscow this trip. Enjoy your weekend! It dumped another six inches at home in Aspen – going to be a fun spring of freeriding at home. I’ll be ready for it after a busy season of competing. Thanks for checking in. Talk to ya,
