Tandadalen, Sweden World Cup 2003

I traveled half way across the world to Sweden for a twentieth place World Cup Finish today! I’m bummed! As well as I’ve been riding recently I was of course hoping for better, but it didn’t happen today. It was an interesting one today, hurricane winds combined with some of the most unusual snow conditions imaginable. It has been really warm here the past few days with rain, making for ball bearing like, soft spring conditions. The top two inches froze last night, which made it even more inconsistent. It was challenging, but it was the same for everyone, and I should’ve gotten it done, but I snailed on my second run and just missed qualifying. My teammates had a so, so day with Warren crashing on the first run and not taking a second and Adam Smith coming in ninth. Adam had a great qualifier, but failed to advance past the first round. On the women’s side Stacia Hookem got in the top sixteen, but also went out in the first round. Swiss Racer Daniela Meuli won the women’s title and Stefan Kaltschuetz from Austria claimed the men’s race!I’m sporting my dweller sombrero! Thank God for Daim Bars and Moose Burgers in this country, because my riding sure didn’t make me very happy! We’re headed to Oslo tomorrow for the night and onto Vancouver, B.C. from there for the next World Cup PGS stop at Whistler Mtn. Dec. 12th. We’ll get ‘em there! Thanks for checking in!CK
