Summer Training at Mt. Hood
Posted by admin on / 0 Comments
I just returned home to Aspen from training at Mt. Hood, Oregon the past two weeks. I had a great camp! I was stoked to be back on-snow riding again. I felt great. I love the early morning Mt. Hood rock hard carve fest. The edges gotta be razor sharp and the balance on. I was busy each day riding my snowboard in the morning and my kiteboard in the afternoon – the best of both worlds. I had some fun kiteboarding sessions on the Columbia. My teammate Zac Kay and I scored a fun day of surf on the Oregon Coast on our day off with my longtime friend and teammate, snowboarding legend Shannon Melheuse. I was spent after nine days of getting up early and riding hard all day.
I’m happy to be back home in Aspen. Last weekend was the Food & Wine Festival. It was cool to see our town full and lots of fun activities happening. I’m looking forward to being home the next two months training hard and getting ready for an exciting winter ahead. Nine months ‘till Vancouver. I want to be ready to ride my fastest and vie for another medal. I’m busy getting things ready for this winter. I’m excited about the road ahead. Each Olympic journey is unique. I’m looking forward to working hard and enjoying the ride the next nine months.
Thanks for checking in. Enjoy the photos from Mt. Hood and my adventures the past month. I’m back on-snow in August. Stay tuned here for training updates and summer happenings.
