Mountain Biking Moab
Posted by admin on / 0 Comments
I was in Moab last weekend riding my mountain bike with Missy and friends. It was eighty five degrees and beautiful all weekend. My friend Bill and I did an epic ride from the top of the La Sal Mountains down to the Colorado River, a descent of seven thousand feet. There was a little snow and ice on the trail at eleven thousand feet in the mountains, but heated up fast when we arrived in the desert on Porcupine Rim. What a cool adventure. When the fall weather arrives in Aspen it’s fun to escape to Moab for one more weekend of riding in warm weather.
I spent this week in Park City training and getting ready for the season. I’m fit and ready to rule it this winter. I worked out with the Men’s speed ski team for a few days. Tues. afternoon, on the way home to Aspen, I joined a few of the skiers for a kiteboarding session on Utah Lake. The wind was ripping like the gorge. My friend “Hardbooter” Billy hooked me up with gear. It was classic, I was styling a fluorescent yellow and purple wetsuit with a pink board and a small old school windsurf seat harness. I was ripping and in touch with my feminine and 80’s side. I couldn’t believe how good it was. It was freezing, felt like I had frostbite on my toes and fingers, but worth it.
I’m back in Aspen training and getting ready to get back on-snow next week in Summit County. Tonight is our Summit for Life Cantina Kick-off Party from 5:30 – 8:00 pm. Come join us for a drink, snacks and live music. Talk to you soon,
