Limone Piemonte World Cup Cancelled
Posted by admin on / 0 Comments
My bags were packed and I was prepared to jump on the plane Monday afternoon, before learning that our World Cup PGS Opener in Limone Piemonte, Italy was cancelled due to a lack of snow. I’m bummed the race didn’t happen, as I love racing on the hill there, but happy I didn’t board the plane only to turn around. That would have been a brutal journey. I am enjoying another week at home, training hard and getting ready to train on-snow in the days ahead with my AST Teammates. I may race Dec. 11th in Steamboat as a warm-up for the US FIS World Cup Dec. 17th in Telluride. My hope is that FIS and USSA figure out how to make up the cancelled Limone race in Telluride, so we have two World Cup starts in Telluride. That would be awesome!
I had a great Thanksgiving holiday with my friends and family in Aspen. We enjoyed a relaxing feast and time together. On Wednesday night before Thanksgiving we attended the 120th Anniversary of the Hotel Jerome sponsored by the Aspen Historical Society. We dressed in 1890’s Victorian attire. It was classic. Last Saturday and Sunday I joined my friend Chris “Uncle E” Ernst in announcing the Aspen Women’s Ski World Cup Races. It was so much fun. It was a great two days of racing action. The crowds were huge. I enjoyed being on the other side of the mic for a change.
We’re a week and a half away from our 4th Annual Aspen Summit for Life 2009 on Dec. 12th. I’m excited for a fun weekend of donor awareness activities. I hope to see you in Aspen next weekend!
