Happy 4th of July

I love summertime in Aspen. I celebrated a fun 4th of July holiday with my family and friends last week in Aspen. I enjoyed the traditional downtown Aspen 4th of July Parade, followed by a family picnic feast, dinner atop Aspen Mountain and a spectacular fireworks show to end the night. It was hard to beat. 4th of July is one of my favorite holidays. I love hanging with my family and and friends, celebrating our country’s birthday together. I’m proud to be an American and grateful for our freedom and quality of life.
I’ve been busy training hard the past month. I’m working hard in the gym, on my bikes and at the track, getting ready for an exciting snowboarding season ahead. I derive a lot of confidence from my physical strong when competing. I put the time in now so I can ride fast this winter and stay healthy. The older I get the harder I have to work. My body is healthy and I want to keep it that way, so gotta keep up with the maintenance. I head to Mt. Hood in a few weeks to test equipment on the Palmer Snow field and do some kiteboarding on the Columbia. I’m spending more time in Aspen this summer launching my real estate business with Morris & Fyrwald. It’s a fun challenge.
Missy and I had a killer trip to Nicaragua in June. I surfed my brains out for two and a half weeks non-stop. I surfed sixteen days in a row. My shoulder was wrecked. My good friend Gilles Jaquet from Switzerland joined us down there. We lucked out with a nice swell in the middle of our trip and scored some sick waves. There were some beautiful barrels. I’m looking forward to surfing again in Oregon later this summer.
I’ll be training, playing and working hard in Aspen the next month, preparing for a big winter ahead. Stay tuned this weekend for the launch of our new website. I’m traveling to the Transplant Games in Pittsburgh this weekend. Let me know what you think of the new site. Thanks for checking in. Enjoy summer!
