Halloween in Aspen and Speaking in New York

It was a great Halloween celebration last night in Aspen. The town went off. People really go nuts on their costumes here. I witnessed Teen Wolf dribbling a basketball through traffic and the hockey player from Slapshot skating high speed down Main Street in the middle of the night, as well as many politically incorrect costumes such as Kobe-the-Rapist and Roy with a tiger attached to his neck. We started the night off feeding hundreds of trick-or-treaters at our home. Our neighborhood is the new Mecca for trick-or-treaters in Aspen. Evidently we got written up in the Aspen Times as the place to go. We got bombarded all night. I went through so many bags of candy that I finally had to call it off and turn out all the lights because I ran out. I was a little bummed about one thing, our neighbors upstaged us a little with the Halloween decorations. I’m taking it to another level next Halloween. I’m going to set-up a full on cemetery in the front yard and drop mummies from the balcony on kids’ heads and jump out from the bushes with the leaf blower running; just a few of my ideas for next year for the top house in the neighborhood.I got home from Europe on Mon. Didn’t finish too strong in roller rink final slalom in Netherlands. However, my teammate Adam Smith won the slalom event. I was stoked for him. I had to repack my bags on Tuesday and head back East to NY for a two-day speaking tour. I was in Rochester and Buffalo sharing my transplant and Olympic experiences. I had a chance to visit Niagara falls on Thursday before coming home. It was so impressive. I can’t believe some dude survived going over the falls a week or so ago. What a nut! I’m enjoying a week at home, sleeping in my own bed. I’m working hard this week on new www.klugriding.com eCommerce alpine gear site, slated to launch next weekend. Also my friend Steve Jackson, with whom I’m writing a book, is in town this weekend. We’re going over lots of good stories from the past. Our book has to be done by February and will come out next fall, so we’re getting busy. Enjoy the pictures below from NY and Halloween. Thanks for stoppin’ in! Talk to ya soon. Stay tuned for new gear site next weekend!CK
