Donor Day 2004

I have been jammin’ the past two days helping to kick off Saturn’s National Donor Day 2004. It’s something that is very important to me! I’m here today because of it! This is Donor Day seven and it’s getting bigger and better every year.Yesterday I was in Gainesville, FL at a DD kickoff celebrating Roland Daniels and his team at Saturn of Gainesville’s success at Donor Day 2003. They had the largest single day blood drive last year, collecting over 500 units of blood. Thanks Saturn of Gainesville for making DD a success. Today I toured DC checking out monuments and museums and doing DD media interviews on the phone. I’m up at 4 a.m. tomorrow morning for a satellite media tour with Sec. Tommy Thompson and Dep. Surgeon General Ken Moritsugu, two champioins of donation. Without their support donor day wouldn’t rule like it does. Thanks guys!Heading to Squaw Valley, CA tomorrow afternoon, following our events here in DC, to get ready for the King of the Mountain finals. I’m riding fast and would love to end the series with a win. I was hoping to win the overall crown, but I ran into trouble when my bags got lost at the second stop. The overall title may not be in reach after my luggage mishap, but I’m still hopging to win the finals on Sunday. I rode as well as I’ve ridden all season last week in Berchesgaden, Germany finishing in tenth. I felt I was riding faster than tenth, but bobbled on the bottom of the course against first round opponent Richard Richardson from Sweden and gave up my substantial lead. Hopefully I can pay him back in Squaw. Thanks for your support! Talk to ya from CA. Rip it up!CK
