Copper Continental Cup Win!

We raced the first of two Continental Cup PGS races today at Copper Mtn., CO. It was an awesome race. We started at 6:30 a.m. in the dark. It was the best North American Riders along with some Euro’s, including the Swedish Snowboard Team. I had to race Daniel Biveson in the first round, and eaked out a narrow win to advance against my friend and teammate Pete Thorndike, who gave me two tough races. After a tight win against Pete, I met my other teammate Eric Warren. My first run against Eric was one of my faster of the day. I maintained the win on the second to race Zach Kay for the win. I got a little squirly in the finals on my first run and had to resort to some freestyle riding to recover and get back on course to win the first run. I held in the bumpier red course on the second run for the win. I’m stoked to get the win against a strong field of racers, my first of the season. I worked hard this week in training with my coaches, making a few adjustments to get there. It was a lot of fun. We’re racing again early tomorrow – another PGS. After ten runs today at twelve thousand plus feet, I’m worked. I’m pounding the Fiji water to hydrate, icing my back, and feasting to fuel up for tommow’s second race. Love to pull off the double win tomorrow, won’t be easy with this field. Hopefully I can recover and be ready to charge again. I’ll let ya know how it goes. Thanks for checking in.
