Copper Camp 2008

Copper Camp is underway! I’m stoked to be back on-snow and riding fast. We trained giant slalom the past days, so much fun to be back in the course. There was over a foot a fresh snow the past days on the mountain, but it was firm underneath which made for great training conditions. I’m enjoying a day off today at home in Aspen today. Aspen received over two feet of snow on top of the mountain the past week with more on the way tonight and next week. It’s going to be a great start to the season. I return to Copper for slalom training this weekend. Copper hosts the NorAm “Race for the Cup” events Nov. 19th and 20th. I always enjoy racing at Copper and am looking forward to some fun racing action. There will be a strong field with the Swiss, Swedish, Japanese, Canadian and American teams all participating.
Last week I went to Vegas with Missy and some Aspen friends. We stayed at the Bellagio and hung out and enjoyed the warm weather. Saturday night we went to the Madonna concert. She’s an unbelievable performer, still rockin’ at fifty. I’m inspired as I turn thirty-six next week and begin my eighteenth year on the World Cup. She put on a two and a half hour non-stop show. Not sure I’ll be racing at fifty, but healthy and fired up for this winter. My training in New Zealand and hard work this summer is paying off. I’m excited for a fun season ahead. Don’t forget to register for our Dec. 6th Aspen Summit for Life 2008 uphill race and donor awareness celebration benefitting CKF. I hope you will all join us for a fun time to support a great cause! Registration is way ahead of last year, so reserve your spot now. The event will fill up. I’ll keep ya posted from Copper Camp!
