Aspen Ski/Snowboard Golf World Championships 2004

Team Fiji/US Boaring made up of Adam Smith, Eric Warren, Justin Reiter and I competed this weekend in the 2004 Aspen Golf & Ski/Snowboard World Champs. It was a classic weekend of golf and snowboarding! We survived the golf course yesterday in Rifle, CO with a 66, six strokes under. ‘We played Wicked good,’ says Warren, even though I was a total liability on the course and pretty much sabotaged our chances with my struggling swing. Thank God for Justin’s skills on the links. The leaders shot 57, fifteen strokes under. Therefore we were forced to make up nine seconds in today’s race for the win. It was a bit too much of a gap to overcome with a straight ten gate Nastar course. We bounced back strong however and won the race today for fourth place overall. Ryan Small’s team took the first ever Aspen Ski/Golf Championship title. We’re now watching the Masters and trying to learn how to do it right, so we can come back next spring and take it! It was a fun event and a great fund raiser for Aspen Valley Ski/Snowboard Club. Thanks to my teammates for joining me and supporting this charity!I’m putting away my snowboards for a while now and dusting off my surfboards for a few weeks of kiting and surfing ahead. I’m speaking this Wednesday in Nashville, TN before traveling to Belize and Costa Rica for my brother’s bachelor party and vacation. Have a great Spring! Happy Easter! Thanks for checking in!CK
